U.S. (Airborne) Cardboard Pigeon Container PG-107/ PB -Unissued Condition

U.S. (Airborne) Pigeon Container PG-107/ PB. Executed in a thick cardboard material. Intended to carry homing pigeons. Pigeons were used throughout the war by both Airborne and Signal troops. During D-Day on the 6th of June pigeons would have been carried to Normandy and used to send first information back to England. An estimated 36.000 pigeons were used by U.S. troops in the European Theatre of Operations.
This fiber i.e. cardboard box is in good condition. Some trace due to age and storage as well as some minor staines. Therefore clasified as nice used condition.
