British (Airborne) 5th (Scottish) Parachute Battalion Red Beret - Nice Used Condition

Original mounted Red Beret to the 5th (Scottish) Parachute Battalion. The beret compromises a textbook Kangol Wear Limited makers marked example. Clearly 1945 dated and as well as being marked with the Broad Arrow. The beret is also marked with War Department acceptance mark and letter "Z" for 1945. The beret is mounted with a tarton on which the Parachute Regiment cap badge was fitted. It was not unusual to see these paratroopers of wearing different types of tartans and clan crests on their berets. The cap badges has been well polished adding to the patina of this beret.
The 5th (Scottish) parachute Battalion was part of the 2nd Parachute Brigade, 1st Airborne Division. The battalion saw action in Italy, Southern France and Greece. A stunning original mounted and nice used British Airborne beret.
