U.S. 9th Air Force Airborne Command Service Dress Named 1944 - Nice Used Condition
U.S. Service Dress original mounted to a 9th U.S. Air Force First Lieutenant. Mounted with Airborne Command formation patch and First Lieutenant shoulder tabs. Likely to have been a NCO temporarily attached the the Airborne Command (glider, engineer liaison, staff) and later served with the 9th Air Force. The medal ribbons include EMEA campaign medal including four bronze stars (four Airborne operations). Good Conduct medal and a Purple Heart. The jacket is named to a W.W. Martin and dated 1944. Made by A. Wilners & Co. from Washington DC. Interesting is the "Ruptured Duck" for honourable discharge during world war two and U.S. Air Force pin on the front pocket. A very attractive U.S. Airborne Service Dress with provenance! Hard to be upgraded.
