British (Airborne) Drop Container (C.L.E/Container Light Equipment) MK.III and Carrier. In nice used condition, bearing most of its original paint and with a highly attractive patina. Increasingly hard to find especially in such untouched and excellent condition. With the containers comes an original carrier in equal condition to the container. The containers measures around 5 feet 6 ½ inches, completely cylindrical, with a diameter of 1 foot 2 inches. These containers were used to rop all types of supplies for ground troops, and also dropped with British Airborne Forces and to the Resistance. At its lower end it has a perforated metal shock absorber. The maximum load was 348 pounds. The colour of parachute indicated the contents of the container.
