British (Airborne) Glider Pilot Battle Dress - Nice Used Condition
A very attractive British 1937 Pattern Battle Dress Blouse. The blouse is mounted with all original insignia to a Glider Pilot Staff Sergeant. The insignia compromises a pair of embroided Glider Pilot Regiment shoulder titles, printed Pegasus formation patches, Sergeant stripes and brass crowns. The Glider wing attached on the breast compromises a very attractive padded example. The battle dress is in overall nice used condition and fitted with original label. Dated 1940 and sized 10. Over the label is a numbercode 1953 at first glance a date, but appearing a code as the jacket is War Department marked and market with lettercode "Q" indicating 1939. A highly attractive battle dress as worn by Glider Pilots during D-Day and operation Market Garden. Would be hard to upgrade.
