British (Airborne) Cotton String Vest 1942 - Nice Used Condition

This is an original British cotton string vest dating from the early 1940s, commonly referred to as an “Escape string vest.” The vest could be unraveled and plaited into a rope to aid escape if required. Such garments were issued to paratroopers, pilots, and commando troops, valued for their lightweight construction and dual-purpose utility.
This example remains in nice used condition, fitted with its original label, clearly dated 1941, and maker-marked by Lillywhites.
