British (Airborne) MK 1 Paratrooper Helmet 1942 - Nice Used Condition
A increasingly hard to find and rare example of a British (Airborne) MK 1 Paratrooper Helmet. also refered to as Helmet Steel Airborne Troop (HSAT). Introduced in 1942 this helmet was fitted with a thick vulcanized fiber band rim. And fitted with a four-point chinstrap system and a band of sorbo rubber.
This helmet compromises a textbook example of a combat used Paratrooper helmet. With clear trace of wear and a dent on the exterior shell and clear trace of wear in the liner. Fitted with textbook leather chinstrap fitted with riffets. The helmet is clearly makers BMB (Briggs Motor Bodies), sized 6 7/8 and 1942 dated. It seems there have been some restorations to this helmet on the rear, possibly a third hole. ???? Yet there is no sign of this in the alluminium rim from the liner. Yet it retains a fantastic patina and an extremely rare early model British Airborne Helmet.
