A stunning British 1940 Pattern Battle Dress. Mounted to a Royal Signals Lance Corporal In The Highland Division.
The blouse is mounted with original insignia and six years of overseas service bars. Of interest are the ribbons of all the campaign medals for all major campaigns in Africa, Italy and France and Germany. The Africa star is mounted with an eight army clasp, indicating this soldier served with the eight army in Africa prior to joining the Highland Division. 51st (Highland) Infantry Division saw extensive service in France and Germany throughout the war including Operation Overlord on 7 June 1944 (D-Day +1) as well as e Battle of the Bulge, as part of XXX Corps, under command off Lieutenant General Brian Horrocks. The blouse itself compromises a size 10, makers marked Stammers Ltd. and 1945 dated. Marked with War Department acceptance stamp. In a nice used condition adding to the patina of this fantasitc BD Blouse.
