British (Airborne) No. 38 MKII Wireless Set Complete - Nice Used Condition

The Wireless Set No. 38 was designed as a high frequency portable man-pack radio transceiver. Various pictures of the 38 set being used during the battle of Arnhem made this an iconic piece of Airborne equipment. This particular radio compromise an early war example with the switch being fitted on the radio that wasnt fitted on the later models. Complete with Z.A. webbing carrier, original antenna case appears 1944 dated, with 4 orginal antenna. Small pack (CCL 1944) and carrying straps for carrying the batteries. Satchell bag (D.R.M. Ltd 1943) and equipment. Equipment includes: head and throat microphones, junction box, radio carrying strap and valves. All period equipment. Also including a reproduction manual with working instructions. Increasingly hard to find such a complete British (Airborne) No. 38 MKII Wireless Set, and although in nice used condition hard to upgrade as a whole.
