An original and unopened U.S. Army Field Ration D so-called 1st type. A complete ration was considered as three seperate bars. Individual bars of the D Ration are referred to as D-bars. This D Ration is prepared by the Hershey Chocolate Corporation, Hershey Penna.
Each ration contained one bar containing 600 calories to keep the soldier going when nothing was available.
