British 1940 Pattern Battle Dress Blouse Orginal Mounted 2nd Army - Nice Used Condition
British 1940 Pattern Battle Dress original mounted to a R.E.M.E. (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) Lance Corporal attached to the British 2nd Army.
After France the Second Army entered Belgium quickly, and cleared much of the country. Its captures included the capital Brussels and the port city of Antwerp. The most significant action was n 1944, apart from Operation Overlord, was providing the main force for Operation Market Garden. During the operation. In April 1945 the 2nd Army reached the Baltic coast near Hamburg.
This particular jacket is in overall nice i.e. light used condition. With some minor damage on the rear of the jacket. Fitted with original label and marked size 12. Ink stamped 1945 on the label and marked with War Department acceptance lettercode "Z" indicating 1945 being the year of issue. Very likely this jacket was issued upon return to the U.K. from Europe.
