U.S. (Airborne) Pigeon Cage Drop Cage PG102/CB - Unissued Condition

U.S. (Airborne) Pigeon Cage Drop Cage PG102/CB. Intended to hold eight homing pictures that could be dropped from an aircraft with small parachute. Pigeons were used throughout the war by both Airborne and Signal troops. An estimated 36.000 pigeons were used by U.S. troops in the European Theatre of Operations.
Executed in metal and covered with an OD shade canvas type of material. In unissued condition with only some trace of aga and storage. Would be hard to upgrade.
