U.S. (Airborne) SCR-536 i.e BC-611 Handie Talkie Radio - Nice Used Condition

U.S. (Airborne) SCR-536 "Handie Talkie" i.e. BC-611-C portable radio. Intended for short range communication between small units. Developed for the U.S. Army these type of radios are also known to be been used by British Airborne troops
This particular early example compromises a nice used example. Complete with brown protection cover for the main switch fitted with orginal tan collor canvas strip.( small crack on the strap) and fitted with bakalite speaker caps The interior of the radio is in excellent condition, free of battery corrosion. The original data plate is still fitted. U.S. Army Signal Corps marked and makers marked Galvin MFG. Corporation Chicago Illinois. Marked BC-611C serial number 313. And fitted with a nice used webbing carrying strap. With extendable antenna. An iconic piece of radio equipment in nice used condition with a great patina!
