British (Airborne) 2nd Model Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife - Nice Used Condition

On of the most iconic fighting knifes of the British army, the Fairbairn Sykes.
The Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife is a double-edged fighting knife resembling a dagger or poignard with a foil grip. It was developed by William Ewart Fairbairn and Eric Anthony Sykes.
This fighting knife was adopted by British Airborne and Commando troops alike.
This particular Fairbairn Sykes compromises the so-called second pattern. In overall nice used condition with some clear wear on the bandlebar and age on the the blade. The most significant changes from the first model are; the tablet style ricasso and wavy ‘s’ shaped crossguard to the Second Pattern with it’s lack of a square ricasso and small triangle ground area to the rib and straight crossguard. The leather scabbard is in equal nice used condition as is the knife itself with the leather showing some wear and tear but in overall smooth condition.
An increasingly hard to find 2nd pattern Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife with a great patina!
