U.S. Early M17 Model 50 CAL Ammunition Box - Nice Used Condition

With no aparent damages and fitted with original webbing handgrip. This ammunition box is in overall nice condition with original text still visible, yet clearly used. The M17 Ammunition Chest was adopted 9 March 1942 for .50 caliber machine gun ammunition, replacing the .50 cal. wood ammunition box and the M3 Ammunition Chest. These boxes were not intended to mount on the gun, but fed the cartridge belts when on position. Increasingly hard to find.
