Burning Bridges and Bridges Are Ours compromise a pictorial historyof the 82nd Airborne Division during Operation Market Garden and its aftermath. “Burning Bridges” (volume 1) and “Bridges Are Ours” (volume 2) are the work of 35 years of airborne history research and contains 976 pages and over 1,600 photographs, most of which have never been published before. All photos are identified either by date, location, name of individual soldiers, equipment, or historical context. Burning Bridges” begins with the introduction, where the decision-making process that led to Operation Market Garden is explained in great detail. The subsequent chapters discuss the preparations in the marshalling areas in England, the activities of the Pathfinders, and the boarding of the aircraft by all paratroop regiments and battalions. The glider lifts are also well covered by many newly discovered photographs. “Bridges are Ours” begins with the fight for the Nijmegen bridges. Roughly, five different attacks took place and each is dealt with in great detail. The main attacks on September 19 and 20, when the 2nd Battalion of the 505th Regiment, supported by British tanks, attacked both the railway and the road bridges from the south are discussed in detail. When the German defenders would not budge, the 504th Regiment was ordered to cross the Waal River in small boats, an action called by many one of the most heroic actions of WW2. Both books are available at a special set price. The books are listed seperate for individual sale. And compromises a Hardback – 976 pages – 1,600+ photos – 2 volumes English version

New Release ! ‘Fighting the British at Arnhem’ By Bob Gerritsen ‘Fighting the British at Arnhem’ describes, amongst other events, the involvement of the SSUnterführerschule Arnheim in what is now known as ‘The Battle of Arnhem’. The SSUnterführerschule Arnheim was a school for soldiers of the Waffen-SS where they were trained to become non-commissioned officers. The training was extremely demanding and rigorous. During the ‘Battle of Arnhem’ the school's officers and students were chiefly deployed on the western fringes of the area so desperately defended by the 1st British Airborne Division. The school was established at the end of 1943 in Arnhem and remained there till August 1944. In that month the school was sent to the Dutch coast and deployed for coastal defence duties. At the beginning of September 1944 it was moved again. This time the school had to take up security duties along the River Waal. When, on 17th September 1944, the 1st British Airborne Division landed in the Wolfheze area, the school was swiftly mobilised and transported to the battle area. It was incorporated into the ‘Kampfgruppe von Tettau’, a force raised as a direct result of the airborne landings. This force was commanded by Generalleutnant Hans von Tettau. Its main task was to destroy the British airborne forces and thwart Allied plans, both of which they managed to do. Not only does Bob Gerritsen share with us the school's early history and its deployment during the Battle of Arnhem, but he goes on to describe the unit’s desperate struggle to fend off later Allied attacks in the area south of the River Rhine. There the school fought fierce battles and suffered many casualties, eventually leading to its demise and disbandment in November 1944. ‘Fighting the British at Arnhem’ Subtitle: SS-Unterführerschule Arnheim Its Origins and Operations against the 1st British Airborne Division September 1944 Author : Bob Gerritsen 224 pages, over 300 b/w photographs, documents & maps, full colour cover, hardback. ISBN : 978-90-812703-9-7 Pre-Order Now!! Available From 21st of September 2018

New Release! BRIDGES ARE OURS (VOLUME 2) A Pictorial History Of The 82ND U.S. Airborne Division During Market Garden By Michel De Trez And Peter Hendrikx New and long awaited release!! Bridges are Ours” begins with the fight for the Nijmegen bridges. De Trez and Hendrikx untangle the decision-making process of the Waal crossing and provide a detailed description, illustrated with many artifacts. After the 82nd Division accomplished all its missions, the last regiment is inserted in the fight. The 325th Glider Regiment was delayed for many days due to bad weather and dangerous planning. However, in the defensive battles that followed, the 325th Regiment played an important role. “Bridges Are Ours” continues with the defensive battles of the 504th, 505th and 508th Regiments and its supporting artillery battalions. The activities of the glider pilots, members of the Air Force who were called upon to perform as infantry, are also covered. Many newly discovered photos tell a story of danger and misery. Units of the Division Headquarters, such as the Military Police, the Signalmen and the Medical Battalion are also well documented in “Bridges Are Ours”. The final chapter provides a critical assessment of the leading commanders of Operation Market Garden and their roles in the decision-making process and the execution of the operation. Sources in British and American archives shed new light on the historiography of Operation Market Garden. The edition compromises a Hardback – 512 pages – 850+ photos. English version
